The dropping of the atomic bomb on Japan was not justified by the United States because the costs outweighed the effects, radiation effected the people in that area for many years after the bombing, and the use of the nuclear bombs started a nuclear arms race. The US already had the Japanese on their heels. The Allies were planning a huge attack on Japan and the Allies would of easily defeated the Japanese.
The radiation that was given off from the bombs affected the cities of Herosima and Nagaski for many years after the atomic bombs were dropped. The radiation from the bombs caused alterations in the blood, destroyed the bone marrow's ability to produce blood and also seriously damaged the liver and other internal organs. A lot of people died because of the radiation that was given off from the Atomic Bombs.
After the bombs were dropped and the war was over their still was one country that was not happy with the United Sates, the country was the USSR. Shortly after the US dropped the Atomic Bombs the Soviet Union had produced their own Atomic Bomb and were threatening nuclear war.

Leo Szilard was one of the scientists that was working on the Manhattan project. At first he helped to persuade the President to start the project. But by the end he like most of the other scientists that were on the project opposed it. Leo Szilard was one of the main scientist that was on the project that tried to talk the president out of using the atomic bomb as means of attack. But he failed in the end because the atomic bombs were launched and the damage was done.

A student is interviewing Francis Mitsuo Tomosowa. He was a student that lived in Japan during the war. He talks about he was taken out of school at the age of 13 and sent to work to produce goods for the war. He says that after the bombs went off all the food and water was rationed in Hiroshima and that it was pretty much impossible to get anything that you need to just survive. He talks about how helpful everyone was in the city and people really take advantage of one another.

This article talks about an interview that was from Cheng Nam Soo who is a elderly woman who was in Japan when the bombs went off. She was sent to a hospital right after the bombs went off because of the damage that was done to her because of the explosion and the radiation that was given off from the bombs. It was a surprising that she survived from the bombs and she was one of the first civilians that was interviewed about the bombs and what it was like to survive one.

Gene Masanori Fujita is being interviewed about the atomic bombs going off in Japan. He was in an anti-raid shelter the was two miles away from where the atomic bomb landed in Hiroshima. He is asked what the country side looked like and he said flat were he used to not be able to see because of building. He also said that he saw people walking around with skin hanging off because the radiation had destroyed their skin. He talks about how he and his mother when into the city every day to try and find his father, but they never did. He also talks about how you could see dead people that were floating down the river.

Mr. Haruso Taketa is being interviewed in this video. He talks about what he saw when the bomb went off through his own eyes. He was just outside the city and he was listening to the radio when he heard the man on the radio say that their was a bomber over the city of Hiroshima. He went outside and saw the bomber fly over the city, then he talks about how he saw a shinny thing falling through the air. When it hit the ground it set off an explosion like one that he had never seen before. It was extremely big and destroyed the whole city.
